See here as BA follow VS's lead and extend it to Europe too.

Some of the comments make V-Flyers look like pussycats in the recent thread about VS cutting catering in Y and PE ...

This is getting silly, BA made a big deal about being a full service airline, how a pax can get more for around the same money and then they slowly start stripping away services.

The airline biz is so up and down it's insane, but a consistent product (SQ,LH) is one thing people look for.


Edit: Just a thought, isn't is kind of sad that AA/UA will probably be offering the best in flight products LAX/SFO - LHR by the end of the year.

Ouch. Totally agree with Scrooge, the full service on BA is their distinguisher. To lose that may save a few bucks on food but could lose a few customers to the LCC's as well [:(]

While it could get that way - I still think they're a long way off at the moment having experienced AA First LHR-LAX recently.

Rather than these continual cuts, I'd really like to see someone innovating next!

Frankly, the US airlines have made some pretty huge leaps in the last year or so when it comes to seating and food.

Even the AA first class flights we took last year were not bad, sure the seat could of been better (VX), but the food and service were very good.

We have had good value for money and good service on AA domestic F flights no problems at all in over 20 flights, just wondered what was wrong with slinky's International AA F trip.Thanks for the TR link will have a look.

Ok, for some reason I don't remember those, but that sounds about right, from what I have been hearing the food quality has been improving on AA, maybe with thoughts towards the BA/AA JV ?

CO is taking over the catering for UA, which can't be a bad thing IMHO and I talked to a friend who 100% raved about the new UA biz seat.

Anyways, back on topic, really BA is going the same route as UA/AA, they are treating Europe in the same way that the American carriers treat their domestic network, sad, but there you go, unless BA prices themselves well above the LLC's the FF base will still fly BA just for miles and TP's.
