From what I have been reading, the fix can be installed on the 9 planes already built and the 10th that is being built right now, from 11 on it will just be part of the building process.

However I have not been able to find a firm time table for how long the fix takes to install, I have heard around 1-3 months, but I have been unable to find out if that is per plane or for all the ones already built. I am hoping the latter, if it's the former the first 6 of those planes are the being used for tests and it could really push back the schedule.

Erm, fix identified apparently, options on how to do it to be decided by end-September or earlier, then no news on how long it will take to actually do it.

1 - 3 months, exceedingly optimistic. 6 - 12 months more likely till first flight.

People are rumouring that the 747-8 could fly first as that's now in final assembly and doesn't have to go through the same certification as the 787.
