- 840 miles from Tesco Clubcard (I don't leave near a major Tesco, believe it or not)

But if you do live near Tesco 100k+ BA miles PA are very achievable.[:D]

Or you could do something thats makes you feel good by avoiding tesco and shopping in your local butchers & bakers etc etc, which will help your community and keep your high street from all but vanishing.[:)]

Tesco are good enough to facilitate a couple of first class flights a year so they get all my business.
I am an independent electrical wholesale/retailer,I survive on offering keen prices and a good service.

How do you earn 13,500 BA miles on a 56.99 bottle of Bolly. At the 600 exchange rate I make 13,500 BA miles equivalent to 5625 Tesco spend assuming no voucher codes.Am I missing a trick here[?]

Prolly 'cos my mental calculator broke. Clearly I'm a little rusty compared to my formative years as a straight A maths student.

I've decided to go with the BA amex. does anyone want to forward me a link so we both get extra miles?
Also, can someone with more knowledge of credit checks etc confirm that I should be fine to apply now even though my first paycheck will be next month? (I will be earning more then 30,000 though currently i'm in the red - they won't know that tho will they?! and i already have a gold barclaycard - so surely i won't be rejected?)

Hi Mark, sorry I can't refer you, however, yes you can be refused a card, the way the credit companies are working right now means that even people with good credit are getting the screws tightened on them.

I've got a referral from locutus, I'll apply anyway. Lots of my friends in similar situations have applied and been successful with other credit cards. so worth a go.

Incidentally, I posted something similar on flyertalk and someone replied with this:

I suggest a American Airlines advantage Citibak (UK) VISA card which will give you easy mileage in the AA programme. Use AA for travel to the US and build up your miles, then exchange them on the One World programme of airlines for world wide travel.

Interesting cause i've never heard of it. Had a look and seems reasonable but no 241 offer but obviously useful cause it's a visa... out of interest does anyone have any experience of this?
