I noticed this morning there is now an option to book a Tristar car from the VS frontpage. It takes you to the Trisar website when you book as normal.

I did a dummy booking for me, home to LHR, and it came out at 96, with the option to book the return for the same price plus 5 waiting fee.

No mention of using DTCI or earning extra miles and the shopping site appears to be down this morning so I cannot see if there are any offers.

Given the price, I may well use them next time I head to Heathrow.

I tried the quote too and it worked out considerably more expensive (>20%) than booking Tristar via NatWest black card concierge service as I presently do and I can use DTCI too.

Their quote rates for a single journey are about 25% more expensive compared with the car companies I have used in the past.

BTW I had to log onto explorer as they don't support other browsers (I use firefox) but I cut and pasted the link that the VS site pointed me to.

I checked on the shopping lists and they are not listed - so no bonus miles on offer.

Will add them to my list though as its possible the other companies I use may have changed their rates.

Yeah, I couldn't get it to work on Safari.

I think Virgin are getting the referral fee for this one... hence no extra miles going begging...!

I did a quote which came out at 138 each way (from the south coast about 60 miles to LHR, Which is quite a lot more than 3 weeks car parking i have just booked (98 meet and greet with purple)

Emailed them to ask if the DTCI could be used if i booked them and was travelling UC and the answer was a resounding no.

I've always found Tristar to be far more expensive than a local firm I use, the local firm provides a nicer car too :)

Interesting to hear who your local provider is as I may want to get a quote - esp as thier vehicles are nicer than a new Merc S Class [:?][:w]

Tristar have never provided me with an S class Merc.
The firm I use provides me with an S class Merc (need to request exec car).
The firm I use may not be able to help you, you're not exactly local to them.

So [:w] right back at ya [y]

Edit to add, using this online booking form, my house to Man Airport with Tristar comes in at a staggering 192.14, the local firm is 85.00. The last time I asked Tristar for a quote direct it was 150ish, still a joke price.
