Hi all!

I am flying from BGI to LGW on the 4th April at 16:45 and will have some time to occupy as my connection from SLU to BGI arrives at 11:40.

Does anyone have any advice on weather that is sufficient time to leave the airport and forage for some lunch and if so where would one go? Also, assuming the check-in would not be open that early is there a left luggage thing at BGI?

Advice appreciated!

We've done this route before and hopped in a taxi to the Crane (about 10-15 mins away) for a lovely lunch overlooking the amazing beach. Don't know about the left luggage facilities in BGI as we took our stuff with us and parked it at reception in the Crane - this was no problem (but we had checked this in advance with them). You might even have time for a quick dip after lunch!

I don't think there are any left luggage facilities at BGI.

Since the 4th is a Sunday I'd echo sushi queen's recommendation and go for The Crane's Sunday buffet. Alternatively, not far from The Crane is the Roundhouse, perched on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic and beach at Bathsheba. Most of the restaurants on the south coast ought to be within easy reach, but I don;t really know any of them so wouldn't like to make any recommendations there.

Other than that my other suggestions would be on the west coast and that's probably a bit too far for a 5 hour stop over?

If you're looking for lunch in L'Azure on a Sunday I'd book early (The Crane is now pretty big with lots more guests than before they started their re-development).There's a pretty laid back surf bar/restaurant in Oistins (an easy hop by bus/taxi from the airport)called Obskewer(sic) which has free wifi and a great view of the planes on their final descent into BGI.

I echo the Crane recommendations - nice atmosphere, great food.

Only thing for you is that if your connection from SLU is with Liat - I wouldnt plan on being on time into BGI, most likely you'll be delayed and will get into BGI not leaving enough time to go somewhere for lunch. Don't book a reservation just incase.

I've never been able to leave any luggage at BGI but going for lunch with it isnt a problem at the Crane as they'll just store it al reception for you.

Maybe you could visit the Concorde Experience as well if you have time.

Gets a vote from me too [:)]. They've lockers to store carry on stuff as well.
