Sorry - I said I had a lot of questions.

We are planning another flight early/mid 2010 with 3 of our children and plan on flying UC with children in Y. Depending on when we book these flights we may be AU by then (although don't think that will make a difference to my question - although does also mean that all 3 children wil be Ag). What we wanted to know is whether we would all be able to check in (LGW) at UC desk with the 3 children in Y. I believe we can with two guests but not sure whether there is any flexibility on this? The same question then applies to fast track security? CH access won't be a problem as will be booking through VH so will simply buy an extra clubhouse pass.

Many thanks again.

As you will all (supposedly?) be on the same PNR checking in at UC desks wont be an issue. However I would doubt you will all be 'entitled' to use fastrack. IME fastrack at LGW has been anything but fast so I would get too upset/worried about that.

It will be interesting to see if VH still offer access to the CH after the re-furb and now that there is V-Room !?

Thanks for that HG and yes, must admit that we've never even used fast track security at LGW before anyway as always seems to be closed whenever we've been there. However, whenever we book with VH they always split the bookings so that we are on a seperate booking in UC to the children - does this affect the PNR?

VH are still offering CH purchase now - have already got one booked for another trip with the children in Dec 2010 and we booked it when booking the flights (fly drive) because figured that they may stop selling them later this year.

Thanks again.

er when you say 'children' I'm assuming you mean grown-ups in which case use some parantal tough love and let them mix with the masses in departures and save the CH for you and your other half !

Yes indeed they are all late teens now. If we had to pay for them all then yes, would not do so but seems daft not to use the ability to take two of them in free as our guests particularly when (we are hoping) next year will be the last year that any of them (we actually have 5 in their late teens) will be travelling anywhere with us plus we are lucky enough to get away several times a year without them and they are used to lounge access as standard anyway (although CH will indeed be a treat for them) as we have always had priority passes. Not to forget that we are already turning left and leaving them all in Y! [:D]

In my view, Gatwick doesn't really have a fast track, although they pretend to. It's often quicker in the slowtrack (normal) line.

When I was there in April I complained about it, to which the BAA monkey said it was all Virgin's fault - they didn't pay towards the Fast Track scheme but expected their customers to be able to use it

Whether there's anything in this or not I don't really care....

I flew to Jamaica from LGW recently and found the fast track security to be actually pretty good and a good deal quicker than the normal queue. Maybe they have changed it slightly?

Just for the record, the last 2 or 3 times, it has been great, only a couple of people in front and very very quick.

This has been around 8am, so don't know if that had anything to do with it.

I normally go through the normal lines at around 6.30am, as the fast track is not open then, and its been very quick.

Thats the security downstairs, not been through on the upstairs lines before.
