I went to the special offers page, of the VS website today, only to find that there isn't a single destination specific special offer available.

In many, many years of visiting the site, I can't ever remember that happening before. There are usually a couple of offers - not always bargains, but there is usually something there.

Are bookings do good that they don't need special offers? [:w]
Is it the time of year that people are on holiday, rather than booking flights?
OR! Is it the precursor to some big sale announcement? [;)]

We can hope, I suppose. [:D]

Both the Sydney Y and Tokyo W offers ran out last night. I've been keeping an eye out, because I need to book two flights to the East Coast and the reward availability is woeful. The flights I was looking at were '9's' in all classes, so they can't be that booked already.

I wouldn't mind another PE or UC sale soonish, but I guess we have to wait for BA to do one first!!

Should there, from previous sale histories, be anything for trips to the US in Jan coming up?

January 'usually' features in the sale, though previous sales fares this year have included January. Loads dictate reoccuring sales I guess.

Thanks,

The SYD 'offer' is now there. I think it is just to stop the cupboard looking bare. [8D]

Although these days, an airline without a sale on would be quite the status symbol...

And also you can't have a sale followed by in effect the same sale [:)]

Not as up to date with the current consumer laws regarding sales - but when I was writing commercials for sales the main points were:

You can't really extend a sale more than once and if the prices in the new sale are lower than the old sale the 30 day higher price rule applies [:D] In other words the product has to be sold at a higher price for 30 days prior to the new sale.

So in theory - you could have a constant 365 day sale if say the Class/price/destination sale offers weren't repeated within 30 period.

does anyone know if Virgin ever have sales/specials on PE and UC flights to/from Miami for February? or is it such a popular route that there are never any offers?
same dilemma as most people ...do we book now or wait till nearer the date?...we have a fairly wide window as we are going to Mexico for 3 weeks and the only thing set in stone is that we want to be in the resort on the 20th Feb...

February (away from half term) is traditionally one of the better times for sales. I think there will be some good offers.

The problem is predicting when the good fares will be offered. If your window is wide, I would say hang on for the sales.

The views of others may vary though, as sale fares are never guaranteed.

Still nothing on the special offers page bar economy to Sydney.

This must be the longest there has been with no P/E or Upper sales for ages.
