How on earth do these people survive at home?

One word - Muppets! They're the sort of people who would ring 999 to ask the emergency services look for missing sunglasses.

If they are that stupid they should have their passports taken away. They should be made to stay in the UK until they get 'better'.

IMHO they are the same as those idiots who call out an ambulance because they have a 'bit of a cold' [n].

A patient once bleeped the clinic in the middle of the night because her washing machine had flooded the kitchen!

Whilst we are all amazed that the F&CO has to issue a plea like this, I suspect the target audience will remain none the wiser and continue to divert hard pushed staff from the things they rally need to do [:(!]

I hope I never have to call upon the services of the British Consulate to find they are 'busy' dealing with some frivolous request

I seem to recall this was a reason for the increase in the cost of a UK passport a while ago, due to the extra costs for consulates abroad. You mean for the idiots that try to smuggle drugs and then ask for help from the consulate?

I'm sure user 'madjack' would suggest that such people should be inflicted on the township of Godthab... [}:)]

It's so embarrassing and cringeworthy.

What have the good people of Godthab done to deserve a load of 'Brits Abroad' being thrust upon them?

But yes most of them need a good slapping and some should deffo be left in certain countries jails.
