Wonder if anyone can help with this one?

Travelling early next month, UC, though I think that makes no difference. I need to carry with me some meds - it comes in a small pressurised container. The website states no flammable stuff is allowed, yet this container has a propellent with is flammable. I really don't want to put it in the baggage hold, it would be just my luck for it to get lost. Anyone got any idea how best to go forward with this? Please and thank you....

You should phone the VS premier team (who may well pass it onto special assistance) and check with them but have information to hand such as the exact name of the medication, how big the container is and details about the propellant etc. The more information you give them now will save hassle later on.

They may also require a letter from your Consultant / GP and if they do its best to sort that sooner rather than later.

Also depending on where you are flying to there maybe other local laws and regulations about what medications you can and can't take into a particular country.

I suffer from mild asthma so carry inhalers when travelling. Never had a problem but I always put them through the X Ray Machine in their own container and visually show them to security.

I also carry the empty boxes which also have all the prescription details as well.

After the liquids scare I asked my doctor for a letter but he told me that inhalers are permitted without documentation.

Thanks,

Andrew.

Special Assistance are the best people to contact - they will know about all the different medications and all the ifs/ands/buts about carrying them onboard.

Thanks everyone - it did occur to me that the size and shape is about the same as an asthma inhaler - but I'll contact special assistance. Is there a direct number or do I need to go via the premier team? If so, does anyone have the premier team's number please????

Thanks again folkd [y][:X]

Isn't there a premier team number that doesn't start 0844 or 0845? I'm sure there used to be....

The Gold card number is 0800, but I would go with Tink says and contact Special Assistance.

I have to carry pre-filled syringes incl needles + sharps box on the plane and have a letter from my Consultant which is rarely read but explains the reasons for the medication.

Yes, I have in mind to get a note from my consultant too, though it's more a case of thinking that I won't need it if I do have one! This isn't a new condition I have, it's simply that they keep tightening rules so much that I thought I'd double check.

Thanks for your help everyone!
