I am looking to book a WT+ seat to Nassau on September 2nd and back on 9th. Currently there is a huge variation in prices in September and my dates work out at 1055 each way!!! Whereas a few days later it is less than half that. Unfortunately, although it isn't essential I travel, if I do go, my dates are fixed.

I really don't want to fly VS via Miami as I can't even contemplate negotiating MIA on my own - even though the cost is far more attractive.

The BA flight is wide open, so what do you think are the chances of the prices dropping before then? I am checking a zillion times a day but so far zilch!

At this point in time, I would say next to zero, your best bet if you really have to go direct is to book a WT seat, get to the airport very early and try and buy an upgrade.

I was afraid of that. It really isn't that essential as I'm seeing them the following month anyway, and the possibility of WT is a definite no as I have a back problem.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

It may be easier and quicker (i'm going to bed) to see if there are any charters flying on your dates out of LGW, some have premium cabins that are pretty good, just choice wisely if you go that route.

Scratch that idea, a quick check shows nothing flying that way, sorry to say, if you want to go direct it's BA.

not direct, but thought about MCO then interconnect... less stressful than Miami

Not sure this helps as you might not be looking for accommodation. But if you book through the .co website, follow the beach holidays link and then the Bahamas, and put in your dates you can get the WT + flights AND 7 nights at the Sheraton Nassau Beach for only 52 more than the 2 WT+ legs and you'd earn an extra 5000 BA miles on the holiday.

UPDATED!!!! Forgot you were travelling solo so went back to check the price - expecting it to go up as the first one I got was based on 2 adults.

Putting in one adult came back with a price of......1289!

PS - Don't go through the 'book flight and hotel together link' as this doesn't work. Nor does booking for fewer nights in the hotel.

I don't think the flights will get cheaper as you've passed the advanced purchase threshold for may of the fare buckets. Booking a 'holiday' gets round this

Actually that's not a bad idea, check the BA site for packages, check in to the hotel and leave, go back at the end of the week and check out.

Thanks for the tip. The hotels offered didn't appeal but I searched elsewhere and got a great deal on the Atlantis Resort and WT+ for a great price. I will probably stay there a few nights and stay with my sone the rest of the time.

Means I get to use the fabulous water park too [:D]

I'm off tomorrow.[y]
