Sorry for the vague title but wonder someone could give me an explanation.

Off to Las Vegas in February 2010 and had originally booked PE outbound (6th Feb) and Y inbound (13th Feb). Since the booking and with the current sale I wanted to upgrade to PE on the inbound sector.

I clicked on the upgrade button on my booking screen (for 190) and I get the following message;
'The upgrade you selected is no longer available.'

I ring reservations and an Indian chappie tells me that I can upgrade for 530!!!! So I declined the offer.[:0]

However if I do a dummy booking I can get a return for 813 which is is what I would be paying in total if I upgraded the inbound sector for 190.

So can anyone explain the discrepancy?[?]

ADDITIONAL: I also checked Expertflyer and it appeared the flight is wide open.

Did you book through VH or direct with VS?

Direct with VS during the last sale back in July.

Hmmmmm, that doesn't make much sense. I suggest you probably call back again. I would call the FC Ag number, usually get UK based with that, and explain the situation, see what they say, it wouldn't surprise me if you get a totally different answer this time. Consistency isn't VS's best quality.

Hmmm was what I thought, I will try the Ag number. Thank you Neil.[y]

Perhaps there is only 1 K available and you have >1 PAX on the reservation? Although EF showing open wide open is strange if this was the case.

With FC Ag I have never gotten anyone other than India!

Spoke to someone in the UK and McMaddog hinted at it.

There are no cheap non-flexible fares available at the moment, only flexible ones which since Saturday has gone up to 3,000+! The agent told me to keep trying or to try at LAS on the way back.
