New, new seating arrangements

Apologies if this is a duplicate thread (mods, do your thing!!!)...

Economy hell...now we have pictures!

You know, I love the Daily Mail. I first started reading it because I thought it promised what I'd always wished for, but then I noticed the spelling of 'Mail' and, whilst my immediate hopes were dashed, a whole new horizon of news and information was opened to me.

The words 'news' and 'information' in the same sentence as the 'Daily Mail' is a little difficult to swallow, but on the basis that the design company in question is quoted, one must take that there is some degree of accuracy in the report.

Looking at the mock up, looks like luggage would be a big no-no[:w]

Loks awful, but, at least everybody would have aisle access. In some ways I'd prefer it to normal economy which I cant abide because i feel trapped if I'm not in the aisle.

Your Grace, I can only hope that you never sit away from an aisle for the rest of your years.

As for the design here, imagine the obstacle course of picking through all those extended limbs on the way to one's relief in the WC...or the copious flow of blood as the drinks trolly removed one kneecap after another.

Interestingly, the thought of facing my fellow pax creates no concern for me -- perchance I've been inoculated against this angst by pleasant memories of staring at some hotty across the UCS aisle?

A final thought -- I hear LRoM has volunteered to test the Ryanair standing seat from East Midlands to Bydgoszcz. Bless...

I suspect there may be NO usable aisle.
Legs interlock - that's how they gain space.
Hence also the lack of service.

Sounds like a typical Ryanair flight!

Interesting that they hold up the military air transport 'opposed' seating as an great example; as someone who has flown to the Middle East regularly since 1990, and in every type of HM's finest air transport aircraft, this is not something I would support for one minute. It's a deeply unpleasant, extremely boring and confined way of travelling anywhere - even on a C17, which are fairly sizeable aircraft with an enormous cargo/seating bay.

I stand to be corrected but the first image that they have is of a plane that has been converted to a classroom as the kids were asked what kind of new classroom they would like and they said a plane and it worked out cheaper than a temporary classroom would be.

Maybe I'm cynical but I don't for a minute believe they will lower prices just as I didn't believe there would be a casino, gym or shopping arcade on the A380's.
