Has the birthday bonus gone this year by way of cuts (cheap plug for recent 23rd birthday [:w])? It may well be my card from VS is sitting in the PO's vast undelivered pile however [:?].

A belated Happy Birthday. [:D][:D]

I got the usual 2K miles in May, and Sue & Chris (silver / red) both got emails this month inviting them to enter a birthday competition to win entry to the VS suite at the O2.

Slinky

As one of the oldies here, you needn't worry about announcing your age[:w]

Back in August, I got the customary Card sent to Au Members and, as it is the Anniversary Year, received 2,500[^]

I put getting an extra 500 down to me being so much older than Nick[B)]

Why do they gives miles to Golds anyway? Surely as Au, you've flown enough and accrued the miles to hardly need an extra 2k or so? ;)

You're right of course, and in the scheme of things it's smallish (2,000 miles usually) but it is a nice gesture that's probably aimed at loyalty and goodwill.

I got my 2500 Birthday miles in August. The nice thing is that the card is actually signed by Humans! (unless they've got a damn good machine that does it)

In this day and age, the real human touch is much appreciated....

I thought that might be the case, but when read through the thread Notts Nick mentioned 'and Sue & Chris (silver / red) both got emails this month inviting them to enter a birthday competition to win entry to the VS suite at the O2.'

Didn't even get that.... or is that in reference to Va's birthday?

AFAIK it is the standard email on the member's birthday.
The one thing to bear in mind is that, in order to do this, FC must know when you birthday is, and you must have agreed to receive emails from the Flying Club.
I think birth dtae is an optional field that not everyone fills in when they join - hence not everyone is contacted on their birthday.

Oh, that's silly and mean.

On the other hand [:D] mine finally arrived and now I feel loved again [ii] - the postage stamp says 15 September though, I'll blame striking post office workers for thoroughly, thoroughly ruining my birthday [:p].
