Does anyone know what the luggage allowance is when flying UC on Virgin and then taking a connecting flight on Continental economy?

I have asked several Flying Club agents who have all given different answers. I am afraid that the correct answer is that it will be the bare minimum on Continental and that we will have to pay for anything over and above but wondered if anyone knows definatively. The flights are all on one PNR.

It would certainly explain why when flying from New York to Fort Myers at this time of year, the plane is packed with very elderly people all hauling the biggest-ons you have ever seen - the snow birds departing for the winter. How they manage is anyones guess!

Anyway if anyone knows the answer I would be grateful.

Usually, if you are on one PNR, the flight with the highest luggage allowance becomes the rule for all.

I stand to be corrected however?

From the VS website, FAQ section:

'What is my allowance, if I am transferring to/from another flight?

If a passenger is travelling on Virgin Atlantic for their entire journey, the most generous baggage allowance will apply.

If a passenger has purchased one ticket for their entire journey, that includes flights with other airlines, each operating airlines allowance will apply.

If a passenger has purchased separate tickets for each airline in their journey, the individual airline's baggage allowances will apply for each flight. In this case, any additional allowances offered by another airline will not be applicable on flights with Virgin Atlantic'

The CO baggage allowance info, is on this this page, but it doesn't look like it is free!
