Hmmm, looks like the CAA haven't paid their Support & Maintenance renewal to microsoft.... [8D]

Apparently (as of 8am) todays UK-Transatlantic flights are delayed 3+ hours[:0]!!!

VS75 has left only 31 mins late so hopefully things aren't too bad.

Sky news says its Heathrow mainly with delays of 2 hours, Gatwick not as bad, and Manchester/Dublin dont seem to be affected

Oh dear, that doesn't sound too good, and it will no doubt have some sort of knock on effect for a few days. I suppose it won't be all bad if you are flying UC and can enjoy a couple of extra hours in the CH!!!

not sure if they did, but the captain on the 75 told my friend they may be going around France!

VS19 left on time and as I am booked on VS20 today I was initially concerned (but not too concerned as Neil pointed out this is always the CH and Claire in SFO for me).

Not over France but well south of the usual.

Hmmm! I often see MAN flights overhead and I'm slightly further south than that flight path

8 hours and 9 minutes seems very quick for an MCO flight!

Ok so flights are heading south to avoid the area, not a real big deal for flights that leave after the outage or are already put to sea at cruise levels, it's the flights heading away from the UK that are still over land or still heading to cruising altitude that will have the issues, also any inbounds would have to route around.

Do a quick search for north Atlantic routings, it is an interesting read.

Tracks are generated each day dependent upon the weather.
Detail can be found in the Op Manual.

This siteis a good weather source and also shows the tracks.

In the centre of the page under Europe, the North Atlantic High Lvl Sig. (WB) will give transatlantic routes to the US with significant weather and North Atlantic High Lvl Sig. (EB) to Europe.

Jet stream & areas of turbulence are shown which give a good idea when to have your meal.

Turbulence maps for the US are also available.

Thanks Bill, that's not the site I am thinking about, let me go hunt it down as it's not in my favorites.

You are right (well Saturdays but she was working tomorrow) - I forgot. Nevermind Merissa looked after me and the flight landed at LHR early [:D]
