Hello all,

I'm flying on the 15:45 LHR-EWR tomorrow (6/10). Can anyone advise or hazard a guess to getting access to the Clubhouse? Obviously we're happy to pay - there are three of us travelling for a 40th birthday do - any advice would be welcome!

depends on if they are offering spaces, which in turn depends on loads for AU/Upper. No harm in asking, but expect a 'No'.

I notice you have posted the same question in the General area. In future, can you please only ask a queation in the relevant forum otherwise there are treads all over the place. Thanks [:)]

Hi Darren, thanks for that - does anyone have any info on loads?

Point taken regarding the multiple posting - ordinarily I'd just post once but, it's close to the date and some people only read one forum or t'other... I'll stick to single posts in the future!

Thanks again for your response.

I think you'll only get in if;

1) You're a gold card holder,
2) You're a guest of a gold card holder,
3) You're an UC ticket holder,
4) You're on a Virgin Holiday package, which allows you to pay for access.

Other than the above, I don't think it'll happen?

If they are offering UC entry for a fee, however it does depend on how busy the CH is that day.

if it was a 80th + birthday you might have more chance but tbh 40 isn't that significant a birthday in trying to get extras

oh and happy bday !

I don't think any birthday or special celebration is a help to gain any extras, and could, actually have the opposite effect. Going to the check in desk saying 'it's my birthday/honeymoon' etc just makes out you are on the look out for a freebie and will probably make the agent less likely to give you anything.

I would just go and ask if there is any paid access to the CH today, if they say yes and you are happy to pay the 60pp then great, if not, then at least you tried. As mentioned above, I would expect a no, that way you won't be disappointed with the more likely response.
