We would love to upgrade change seats etc, but virgin say we are not on the system yet, holiday paid for in full, travelling in 4 weeks.
many thanks

You're probably best off speaking to your agent directly. At this time, I would have expected them to have already passed the details (along with the money) to VS.

It is not a case of releasing names to VS it is about when the tickets are issued. If you have booked direct with Sandals then your booking will be processed by Funway who power their system and they generally issue tickets around 3 weeks prior. If you have paid in full there would be no reason not to call them now and ask them to issue tickets immediately if its not already done. You will not be able to view your booking on the VS site until the tickets are issued though.

Just a thought, If you have not booked on the Virgin website you can't upgrade on there - you need to contact the issuing agent.

Tickets bought through agents on their net fares are not able to be upgraded on the VS website.
You can not even use miles to upgrade tickets booked in eligible fare classes if they have been booked on any discounted contract.

be first in line at check-in on the day, best chance of changing seats/upgrades can happen then!

Thats true. We went to Sandals Grande in St Lucia this January with VH but through our local travel agent (Co-Op travel) who gave us the best deal at the time. We were unable to access the 'manage my flight' section of the VS website until the tickets had been issued. IIRC, it took quite a few phone calls to get said tickets issued. I think in the end they got fed up with me pestering them so just issued them to keep me quiet. That said, we travelled on E-Tickets with VS so it's not so much a case of issuing tickets as it is updating the VS electronic ticketing system.

When I booked my holiday with VH last month, I could log on and check the flights on the VS site straight away. I managed to select seats and enter the API info. After about a week the page was blocked and I still can't access it. I can understand that it is blocked due to the tickets not being issued, but wonder why I had the initial access to it.

Which page was blocked? If it is the seat map then, once 60% of the seats have been requested for allocation then you cannot see the seat map. it only becomes visible again just before on-line check-in.

Alternatively the other reason you cannot see it is because you are clicking on the link to your booking on the manage my booking page. There is/was a glitch there and it was discovered that if you put the details in manually you can see the seat map once more - unless 60% of seats have been pre-allocated

It's the My booking page that's blocked. I get the message 'Sorry, we were unable to retrieve your booking. Please check the details you gave us below and let us know the flight number and departure date of the flight and try again.' I enter the flight details and still no joy. I've tried via logging on and entering manually. As I said before, I'm not surprised as the tickets may not be issued yet, I was just surprised that I could view the flight details within minuets of making the booking with VH.
Of course I could be doing something completely wrong!!

Are you using the VH reservation number instead of the VS one? The VS one is six units long and a mixture of letters and numbers

I've tried both, when I first accessed it I used the VH one, that got me in and gave me the VS ref. Now I can't get in with either.
