BAA Visa Card ending.

Just had a letter through the post giving me notice that my BAA Visa card will be cancelled on the 31st July 2010 and that I'll not be able to earn Worldcard loyalty points (and therefore Virgin airmiles) after the 15th November 2009

I know some of us have been pretty lucky in having this way of earning Virgin miles but it's going to be a substantial loss to me as Amex seems to be accepted in far fewer places.

Agreed. I am going to miss the free Heathrow Express upgrades.

More importantly - in the absence of the BAA Visa WorldCard, how can I get virgin airmiles at places that don't take American Express?

One of the options is the Hilton Honors Visa card. Although it converts at 5000 spend for 1500 miles [n]

Will keep an eye out for anything better, but in the mean time as they offer 7500 bonus HH points for sign up/spend I think I'll go down this road.

Yes I spotted that one too, but as you say, 1500 miles for 5000 isn't very good.

Nobody has any other ideas?
