Don't recall seeing this and a search hasn't brought it up. I was trying to work out whether to buy the daught a few miles so she can buy her own RT to LAX (assumng we go ANZ). The limit has been raised to 30,000 miles. Seems a big rise to me as it's been at it's reduced level of 19,000 for years.

They are also offering a 15% bonus on bought miles between now and 15th December.

I hadn't noticed the increase to 30,000 per year before either, they must need to generate some cash flow.

Interestingly, they don't even seem to be enforcing the 30,000 limit

Even without bonuses, I've bought 33,000 miles this calendar year, and I bet that the system would keep selling me miles until my credit card was dried out....

The 'short of cash' theory seems to be the explanation....

Anyone else bought more than 30,000?

Presumably if you buy more miles than the T&C's permit, then VS reserve the right to take the miles off you (& refund you, obviously)? A bit like the people who got Silver FC membership they weren't entitled to through various offers (often posted on here!) - Virgin returned most of them to Red membership.

That's partly why I'm not going mad, and buying enough for the Virgin Galactic trip - Virgin can 'buy' back the 3,000 excess if they want - but I'm not sure what happens about the Bonus miles :)-
