Yikes! Have I committed the ultimate sin and disagreed with one of the old timers?

Not at all, it is not a sin to disagree with one of the old timers, however, in this case it is very doubtful you will find anyone on here that spends more time dealing with the PE meals than Tink, so pretty much if she says it's different, then in some way it is.

But apart from the roll and the after dinner drinks, can you honestly mention anything else with the food that is different to ecomony?

I don't really think the food is THAT different, it's certainly not a reason to book PE over Y anyway. The reason I normally travel PE is because I'm 6'5' and honestly really do struggle fitting in a Y seat. Occasionally if I'm just popping over to the UK for a quick weekend or something and there is a bargain Y fare, I will do that, and then at check in I'll see how full the plane is, decide if I have a chance of getting a row to myself, or if I need to pay a little more to get an exit seat or chance a bulkhead.

I'm also not much of a fan of eating a large breakfast as soon as I wake up anyway, I prefer to wait and get something after a shower in Revivals. However, that being said, the choices in PE for breakfast from the East coast are awful. The chocolatey things are wayyy too stodgy, and honestly, who wants to eat chocolate or hot choc chip cookies for breakfast anyway?! Maybe if they changed the muffins to a nice light blueberry muffin, or a yogurt, or even cereal, I might be more tempted. But then, I might still just have a glass of orange juice and a cup of tea, and then a nice bacon sandwich in Revivals.

That works if your gold, however if your not gold and your paying 3 times the price of a Y ticket, a egg muffin is not really going to cut it after flying from the west coast.

I couldn't agree more with your comments - it's not just that for a full fare W in PE the breakfast is a disgrace, the hot cookies are just so wrong. A skinny blueberry muffin on the other hand is not exactly difficult to source ...
