Sorry that I have not been here recently checking these posts - lotsa other things to do!
I really get a little smile when I read TRs that involve a flight into Heathrow, and it includes a bit about '... and when we came down for our bags they were already going around on the belt'! Excellent!, we've done our job, another happy customer - what's not to like?!
Nowadays we also have to do all the crew-bags too, so they also appear on the same baggage-belt as passenger bags. I think that they're 2nd or 3rd away from the aircraft. The crew get themselves through Immigration and down to the baggage-hall, so we don't see them at all these days. Up until about a year ago they used to be picked-up in a coach, which would then come to the back of the aircraft to collect their bags. At which point we would all 'check-out' the cabin-crew, eyeing-up the good-looking ones! I'd better stop now before I reveal too many secrets of 'behind the scenes'.
Any more baggage questions ... ask away.
