Wanna fly a 747 LHR-Paris!

Apparently, with the Eurostar mess, BA is flying a 747 to Paris today in place of one of the usual Airbuses. That'll be a surprise if you're booked in Club Europe and get a first seat, mind you, it'll be up, then down!

Also something to do with AMS and CDG restricting movements so a larger plane will help BA keep the delayed pax numbers down.

Blimy, BA Management doing something sensible! whatever next?

They did the same during the world cup in 98. Sureal experience on a very short flight, about 45 mins[:)]

BAH-DOH,only 2 of us in the 777 CW dormitory it took off like Concorde,surreal indeed about a 20minute flight.

One of my most memorable flights was a 1978 Pan Am 747 flight in First Class between LAX and SFO (it was the second leg from Honolulu and almost everyone deplaned in LAX). We have the first class section to ourselves on that short flight - very surreal.

I remember the BA 747 flight to San Diego. After clearing customs at Pheonix the short leg to San Diego (and back) with hardly any pax, or fuel, made a memorable short flight and freaky landing in that fantastic city.

Last year, I had an entire A345 F cabin EK to myself AKL-MEL. Not only that, it was the same crew who'd looked after me the the day before, so I had three very attentive crew to myself. Unfortunately I'd been out with Decker the night before for a rather big one, followed by a boozy lunch the next day just prior to this return flight. Numbnuts here fell asleep with a full glass of Dom in his hand before we'd even taken off, thus failing miserably to take full advantage of such a situation.

Earlier last year AKL-SYD on EK on a 777ER I was with one other pax, where between us we managed to get all nine different bottles of wine opened between us.

...thinking about it I did LHR-YYZ with only one other Pax in BA F about five years ago. Coincidentally, that same pax ended up on the return journey with me two days later.

ISTR there were four crew in F on BA in those days.

Also QF SIN-FRA with one other pax in F about ten years ago. Very civilised.
