Hey guys. First review here for me.

I've been looking forward to this flight since I got my Au Card a few months ago and have been dreaming about the Clubhouse ever since.

Got to T3 at 8am. Upper class check in a breeze and was showed to the lift. Through security in about 30 seconds. I have to say this facility is absolutely fantastic. Scanning your boarding pass and seeing the magic door open is just fab!

Straight to the Clubhouse. Wow. What can I say? Absolutely fantastic in every sense. Five stars. Breakfast was delicious, champagne kept flowing non stop, facial was bliss. I mean you just want to forget about your flight and stay there all day long!

Extremely helpfull at the Clubhouse desk where they sorted me out with a lovely exit seat.

Push back exactly on time. Uneventuful flight. Good chicken with potato wedges. Shame the pretzels and the cheese and crakers are gone. Tray does look a bit sparse I must say....

Withouth a doubt getting to Au and having access to the Chouse and fastrack security improves the whole expereinces tenfold. Full marks to VS for looking after their best customers!! Keep it up and let's have those cheese and pretzels back soon!

Hi and welcome to V-Flyer (and congratulations on doing the first TR of 2010)

Also congrats on achieving Au. Yes the Clubhouse experience is great and long may you continue to enjoy it. Hopefully you will also get to enjoy UC as well [y]

Thanks all. Any of you been to the IAD lounge? Is it nice? Godd views of the runway? Nice cocktails :-)

Need to decide how early I get to the airport on Monday. Certainly for the LHR Chouse the answer is simple: earlier the better!

I like the IAD Clubhouse but don't bank on it being like the LHR one. With regard to accessing it, check-in only opens about 4 hours before a flight so therefore it is impossible to use it before then. Also remember it is only the CHs in London that have spa/treatment facilities so no treatments.

Having said that, it has a fully stocked bar, a full menu of both hot and cold dishes and the staff there are excellent. It has views over the ramps rather than the runway but all you can see are the d*mn mobile lounges and a few Continental aircraft. The best part about it is the fact that it is directly opposite the gate VS uses and so it is literally out of the door for you and on to the plane.

Another advantage is there is reasonable shopping in the area if you are so inclined.

Thanks for the heads up re the 4hrs! Would have been stuck in Strabcks waiting like a lemon!

Sounds like I'll like it if it's opposite the gate and close to the shops.
Yes those mobile ramps at IAD are WEIRD. I mean, who came up with that genious idea?? Main terminal is architecturally quite striking though.

I shall report back on Tuesday re Chouse and flight which, I have noticed will be on a 340-600 unlike the -300 on the way out so thankfully V-PORT! Oh and I musn't forget to check out the revivals lounge at LHR

Not been to the IAD clubhouse for a while, but I always got very good service there by one of the waiting staff. It's one of my top 3 lounges.

They have a few other airlines they host, so as soon as the checkin opens for the VS flight, you should be able to maximise your stay.
