Hi

I'm flying PE to JFK from LHR in March and when choosing seats, had limited options resulting in me selecting two in the back row (A and C). Will being against the 'wall' prevent us from reclining fully?

You should be ok to recline.

If you are on an A340-600 the toilets are directly behind you too

Have a look at the seat maps on here and on sites such as http://www.seatexpert.com and http://www.seatguru.com for comments on the best seats.

I'd keep looking on a regular basis to see if any better ones open up between now and your trip and more (should) open up when on line check in opens 24 hours before departure.

The seats in the back row of PE do have the full recline. Just think you'll have no one kicking your chair from behind.

From personal experiance - if sitting in PE on the A340-600 I would try to make sure NOT to sit in the middle on the back row of PE sat there somming back from JFK last summer and it was awful - tolilets each side and you couldn't see out of any window any side - personally I would have rather have sat in economy than sat there! I have to agree. There's no 'premium' about those seats. Very bum seats indeed.

Hmmm...my seats are on the lefthand side rather than the centre row but I'll still try and move if possible. I'm glad they have the full recline though.

Thanks for the replies.

I actually think 22AC and 22HK are great PE seats.

You get to recline your seats fully without anyone behind you kicking or pulling on your seat everytime they stand up.

The recline is the same as the other PE seats.

Personally I would keep them. Directly behind you is the PE wardrobe.

These are the best seats on the 600.

My parents recently flew back from JFK in the last seats on a/c side in the A346 PE cabin and they loved the seats. Full recline, no other pax behind you, and also according to my dad a nice little bit of extra storage behind the seats.

I do agree with the others that the very last row in PE, the 3 seats in the middle at the back are ones to avoid, far too close to the toilet doors.

19 H/K are fine also, although I can't 100% remember if it is row 19 or 20 that doesn't have a proper window on the A346 PE cabin, I think it may be 19.

My personal fav seats are 18A/C or H/K, these are only available for allocation at the airport, but if you get there fairly early you can usually get them.

Correct!! [|:)]

Row 19 on the A346 does not have a window.

but then anything behind row 19 looks like it's over a wing so am guessing there won't be much to at from any seat exept row 18?

We once flew out to SFO in these back side seats, and yes found the additional storage directly behind the seat very useful to stand your wheely case in, saving having to lug it out of the overhead bins for stuff etc. The loos weren't bothersome at all. however those rear middle seats looked bad news..

when you are at 30,000ft there really isn't much to look at whatever seat you are in, but I do like a window for landing, each to their own I suppose!

Those seats are a travesty, and incredibly badly planned by VS. I once paid close to two grand for the privilege of sitting in the middle one for seven hours ... worst money I ever spent on Virgin, should have asked for economy. Look left and right, all you get are the loo lights flashing you too ... ugh!

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

Will the row 18 seats be available to reserve via the online check-in facility 24hrs before, or at the desk only?

Just to add, sometimes if you get there early, row 18 might not have been released, so just ask the check in agent nicely if they can ring through and get it released. We have done this a few times without any problems.
