VS do not 'follow suit'. They sit in a room with no internet connection and come up with the sale prices, and it's just coincidence that they are within 1 of the BA sale fares, and announced within hours of BA. [:?]

yep and they have done exactly that, and it's what I've been waiting for[}:)]. Just booked VS PE LHR-JFK and SFO to LHR for 667, result.

Yup, looks like the winter sale is up there. US / Caribbean only and I can't see the destinations because the ridiculously badly managed VS Web site has a deadend link on the special offers page (Web site manager needs sacking, really!).

No UC yet but that often follows in the New Year!

Just checked some prices on BA.com and appears the Club Sale has started a day earlier than advised. Club return to Singapore 1,998, Los Angeles 2,000, New York 1,490, Barbados 1,400

Sadly SFO fares in May are around 2300, I was hoping for something a little less - need to go see how much the piggy bank holds ...

Editted to fix typos ...

NY looks attractive at just under 1.5k but dosent apply for Feb which is when I want to fly. Hope VS come up with something or I'll cash in my miles.

Though I saw on expedia that Swiss has Business fares at about the same cost as the BA sale (but available in Feb). Might consider that as an option even if it means a flight via Geneva.

Anyone flown Swiss?

Agreed crispin, not much of saving on the SFO fares compared to some of the others, was planing on LAS via SFO, but may as well go via LAX and save 300 in the process

Yes (I live in Switzerland).

If you get one of their upgraded planes then the business class is good. Other wise it is not a flat bed.

Fleet should be upgraded by middle of 2010.

Someone may have pressed the wrong button this morning and loaded them early. There's not reference to the CW/First sale on the front page.

BA sale contracts came out yesterday with today as the start date, I assume BA might have been trying to get the jump on VS who have probably been preparing everything for tomorrow as first day of sales.

Apologies I was looking at July and got that price, although just looked again and now 2,536!

Chatting with the agent, the sale fares were loaded up last night but they're not allowed to mention or highlight the sale till tomorrow when is official.

Bought a BA club return to SIN in July for 1,998 by lunch time gone up to 2,534 as mentioned above

Just checked again now the sale had gone official to see if the same, still 2,534, and when selecting her outbound flight BA11 the option to fly back BA7371 (Qantas codeshare flight) was no longer available, only there if pay for a more expensive outbound.

Am a little worried they will contact us to say it was mispriced or the fare we paid is incorrect?? Or is it possible we've bit of a coup and got lucky with our airfare pricing and how the bucket system works??

I did it over the phone so spoke to an agent rather than online. We have the booking email and checking the booking reference on line says it confirmed.

I only just noticed the BA sale at the weekend (just in time). I was just about to book some seats on SIA and was checking BA connections up to Edinburgh. I didn't even realise that I could book from NZ (and pay in $NZ) from their website. Anyhoo, not entirely sure how (but it's been confirmed and is displayed on my 'manage my bookings' page)but I've just bagged 2 x adults AKL-EDI 1st Class outbound, Club inbound leaving 18th Dec rtn 6th Jan for $17,865 total!

:D

Chose my CW dates at 23:49, entered card details at 23:54...Card is full!

Find new card, cant remember password for the bank security check, reset card password, press enter at 00:00 and 5 seconds...'We can not complete your booking, please start again'

The drama! Oh well, just BA losing more business.
