I think something is up, flights I have been looking at have just shot from 2900 (seen about an hour ago) to 8250 (now), so it looks like new fares might be being loaded at the moment.

(May 14th -> 24th LHRSFO)

Dummy bookings will deplete the Z bucket and force all enquiries to the next highest available bucket.

I did a dummy run on my already booked dates for MCO out of LGW day before yesterday, two UCS returns came out at 2550 inc tax. They were not J D or Zs either, less miles and tps but a ruddy good price.

What fare code was it then?

Think one was an R can't remember the other, the miles were 7k ish and TPs were 7 as opposed to 10.

R should earn the same TP's and miles as a Z, and both should earn the full 10TP's.

Are you should you didn't maybe accidentally price a UC/Y combo as that price is very cheap compared to anything I have seen recently for MCO, plus that would earn you the 7 TP's!

You could be right a new search brings Zs up at 1550 each. Pretty sure I saw upper both ways but I can easily make mistakes on forms
due to my brain turning things back to front.

I have been keeping an eye on similar O/W dates to MCO
Prices have just gone up - were ~1700 UC ret pp now 2100
BA CW at the same time is now down to 1850pp so I would expect VS to follow tomorrow - but that still would be more than last week.[:(]

When I booked our flights for Oct/Nov, UC was only 1700 so it will be so wrong if VS put them in the sale at more than that level.

Indeed, this has happened before previous sales, suddenly fare classes disappear and then reappear. I hope.

Seen that too Steve. I've 3 flights to book, travelling within the next 7 months, unless VS match within the next few days I'm 'jumping ship'.

That seems to have gone through a second reduction!
BA reduced their fares - VS reduced theirs
Now BA have reduced again....

It's going to look rather obvious if this continues.....
BA strategy?

Just checked the flight I need to book on BA and it's a full 1000 lower than yesterday. Past experience shows Virgin tends to be 24hrs behind so heres hoping Virgin's prices drop tomorrow otherwise I'll be in Club again. Like many of you I collect both BA and Virgin miles and balances in both are about the same....not enough for anything worthwhile yet. Although the Amex card is a Virgin one but I'm begining to wish it wasn't.
