So it has been a while since I have been posting on V-F, however I have been lurking. Anyhow my old man hits the big 6 0 in March and as a result the mother is taking him to Washington for a long weekend on their way back home to Florida.

As part of my mothers grand plan, the children will be flying out to Washington to surprise him and join in the celebrations.

As a result I am now looking for a top notch restaurant in DC for an evening meal to celebrate his birthday. So my well educated V-Flyer's, do any of you have any great suggestions as to where we can go?

Mrs DA and I went to DC Coast for our wedding anniversary meal a couple of years ago. I got in touch with the manager and with her help, we gave my wife a lovely surprise.

DC Coast? Did you go to Lima Lounge next door?

When we were there in June we went here http://www.fogodechao.com/ and thought the meat was the best we'd tasted anywhere ever. Service was exemplary as well. Even if you don't go there for the birthday celebration you have to go at some point. You won't be disappointed (we went to their Baltimore location as well while we were out there and that was just as good).

Cheers for the suggestion, seems a bit like Texas de Brazil down in Fl, which my father loves. Will certainly check it out.
