After a really nice 4 night stay at the MGM Grand in a celebrity spa suite with fantastic views, we were leaving Vegas on a very cold extremely rainy day by the MGM Grand limo.

Went to the upper class check in where no one was waiting and only 2 people in the PE line. Our pre-requested seats of 6a/k were allocated. It was at this time hubby said, 'are we travelling upper?' as he had no idea I'd booked this for the return. The check in lady said yes and said it a lovely surprise. I'd done this partially for my birthday and partially due to his recent heavy workload to get some sleep before going back to work on Fri 28 Jan.

The security line was very small and they had a body scanner too which if the queue was large, could slow things down considerably.

Went to the VIP lounge where our coats were taken and found a nice comfortable sofa to sit on. Had a couple of glasses of Korbel champagne and nibbles and was advised the flight would be leaving from a different gate but we could exit through the lounge doors closer to the new gate so not a great deal of difference. Thankfully the flight was on time.

Back on Ladybird, the same plane as our outbound and offered champagne pre take off and completed the breakfast order cards. Further drinnks and nibbles were brought out quickly after take off and our choice of meal of chicken cacciatore or beef medallions followed by sticky toffee pudding was distributed. Changed into our sleepsuits and had a chat with a lovely FA before returning to our seats to find the bed made up.

The upper class section was full which I was surprised at as the lady at check in said it was only a third full. Not sure if these were op ups or purchased upgrades to fill the cabin. However, the flight crew announced the plane had only 158 people on board so was very quiet.

Tried to sleep but someone was snoring so loudly, I couldn't. The only option was to put on the headphones and blast out some music which thankfully worked and I managed to sleep for about 3 hours. There was rather a lot of turbulance on this flight which made me very restless too. I'm not sure if you feel turbulance more in the nose rather than sitting upstairs in PE, but I thought it felt a lot worse.

About an hour and half before landing, the lights were turned on low and I changed out of the sleep suit in readiness for breakfast. I had the full breakfast and a bowl of cereals which was really nice. A lot better than the rubbish PE offering.

Obviousy this was a night flight where all service is done quickly to enable everyone to rest, so I didn't get the full service that the day time flights receive. However, for a west coast overnight flight, it was ideal and was great for getting much needed rest following a busy Vegas trip and pre returning to work.

No, definitely didn't recognise the culprit although during landing he was reading a book about web developing.

On the baggage collection front at LGW, no problems at all - a couple of PE bags came through quickly followed by ours. I would estimate that our bags were probably about 5 and 12 so no problems at all.
