Hi Guys

I booked a holiday with VH yesterday and at the time the sales person was unable to give me my VS flight ref so i could pick my seats etc.

She recommended that i contact the service team to get it (which i have done) but the number they gave me isn't working. It says

'Sorry we are unable to find your booking. Please check the information you entered below and try again.'

Is there a minimum amount of time i should wait before i am able to log in? Failing that, should i contact Virgin Atlantic directly about this, and if so what phone number should i use.

Thanks for your help
Nick

For VH booking references, you need to enter your flight number and date of travel as well so when the first look-up fails, enter your info again, including your flight number and date of travel and try it again.

VS will no longer give you their booking reference for VH bookings, only VH can now provide this for you.

You VS flights will only be booked up to 11 months in advance, so if your holidays is more than 11 months away, VH wont have booked your VS flights yet (Though they will have reserved your flights)

Hi James
My booking is for June this year. After it failed to log in, i entered my flight details (flight number and departure date) and it still failed. Im hoping its just too soon to check and that my details havent been processed yet, however with previous VH holidays that i've booked i've been able to log in straight away.

Flights for June should be there.

Where are you traveling to? I've found that only VH bookings with flights to the US seem to work using your VH booking reference.

You will need your VS booking reference, so you will have to call VH.

You can only access your booking online once VH have issued your tickets which they won't have done yet.
To make any changes you have to talk to VH as VS won't touch an agent's booking.

How long does it normally take them to issue the tickets? I've booked holidays in the past with VH 200 days in advance of the departure date and i've been able to log into the virgin atlantic website instantly.

Not sure about that. A colleague of mine has just booked to go to Cuba in May, he booked with VH on the Monday night, on Tuesday morning I accessed his booking using the VH booking reference on the VS site.

Booked with VH yesterday and was given the VS flight reference. Tried this on VS website within 5 minutes of booking and was able to access booking.

You don't have to wait for VH e-tickets to be issued if you have VS flights, as they have a work-around in place meaning you can view your VS flights as soon as they are booked.

The only thing is, you always have to enter your booking ref to find your flights as the flights don't show up in the list of flights based on your Flying Club number. Once your flights are e-ticketed they do then show up in your list automatically.

So if the number i was given should definitely work what should i do? I'd rather not speak to someone in an indian call centre who doesnt really care.

When is the best time to phone (and who should i ask to speak to) to ensure i get through to someone in the UK?

You will need to speak to someone at VH in their bookings service department (I think there's an option for this in their call center menu), but call during the week as they will probably have to either pass you to or get the info from their flights department who I believe only work Mon to Fri.

So I just phone VH holidays again and was put through to someone in the service team. They said that because i have '4 or more flights' booked (Im travelling to Hawaii via LA) i wont be able to log in and select seats/meals etc until the tickets are issued which normally happpens 14 days before depature.

Is this correct? I went to Hawaii last year and i didnt have to wait until 14 days before we left. Has some kind of policy changed?

Its true the Virgin website won't allow you to access your booking if it has 5 or more flights but not 4 or more. I would use the online form on the VAA site as I've noticed they get forwarded to the Web team if they replicate a problem so you may get an answer from those in the know if you follow this approach.

There will be 2 of us travelling so i suppose there will be 8 flights in total. Do you think that is the problem?
