Will I am dead impressed. Having booked car hire via Virgin site a few days ago I have just received this email >>

Dear Mr Watson,

Thank you for booking your car with Virgin Atlantic/Virgin Holidays (via Travelplus).

Alamo online Check in
Your Booking Reference: *****/S10

Avoid the queues at the car rental desks at the airport. Use Alamo online check in and you can simply head straight to the garage and collect your car.
Simply log onto the URL below, complete a few easy steps and print your own rental agreement.
Once you arrive at the airport, head straight to the garage and simply select your car from the rows containing the grade of car you booked and off you go!

You will need your Alamo reservation number(s) which you will find below.
Don't forget if you have booked a GPS unit or a Child Seat you will need to collect these from the counter or the garage.

Your Alamo Confirmation Number{s}

95******8

Please go to http://www.alamo.com/offer/virgin and use the above number(s) to check in online

Being able to walk straight past those long queues at busy car hire depots sounds just fantastic!!

Cheers
James

not a lot of people know this

a lot of car rental places are francised for example Alamo Los Angeles may be owned by John Smith and Alamo Las Vegas may be owned by Tom Cobley. If you've picked up in LA and dropped in LV some how that car has to be got back to LA which could possibly involve hiring a driver. Tom Cobley can't absorb it into his rental pool.

Also usrentacar DO charge one way drop fees as I've shown on another thread.

Just to clarify, USrentacar charge if you use Alamo through them, but not Dollar, and this is on California/Nevada one ways. All suppliers in Florida there is no way fee.
