I am looking for a good option on a return flight to New York from London.

Ideally one that earns me tier points but one I can use miles for a companion flight - both in PE.

The Virgin planner seems to only offer me K class fares (which I can't use to get a companion flight) or W class - flexible but more expensive. I see that S class fares qualify for a companion flight. Is there a way to search specifically for S class options? None of the flights I have found are S

Also there seems to have been a fairly hefty price rise in the past week - PE K fares to new York were around the 530 mark a week ago and have jumped to 800+ now.

Once you have priced the S fare using the link Decker has provided, you will have to call VS to actually get the companion seat. Also remember that no every flight will have companion availability on it, so again, either do a dummy booking online to check, or call VS.

Thanks for that - it's that link I've been using. I must be missing something , (sorry!).... How do I specify I want to search for an S fare? It seems to give me two options - PE (lowest) which is a K fare and thus doesn't qualify for a companion seat, or a PE (flexible) which is a W fare which is more expensive than it needs to be.

Next to the drop down list where you select the cabin you want (econ lowest or flexible etc) there is another drop down list that allows you to select a specific code. Y/B/L for economy or W/S for PE.

If you click on to the link Decker gave then alongside the box in which you have selected Premium Economy there should be be one with the header 'Class'. If you click on that it should give you the option of S or W
