Hi RR

I have found this as well. When trying to book an U/C reward flight, it sometimes 'prices' economy fares. For some reason its been 't' codes with me.

Best to check the fare breakdown to make sure it has priced 'g' fares.

Yeah - I have found that if the dates you originally search for are unavailable, the calendar gives random classes. The only way I could get it working was to look at the calendar, note the dates you want to go and then do a complete search from the start again with the correct dates.

Seems like they have a bit of a bug in the website ...

They do have a bug. When I was trying to book our G's to Miami in October yesterday, it kept saying that the miles cost was going to be 150,000 miles for the two of us. I did not think that was right as usually its 100,000 each so I rang the Premier Team. The lady I spoke to told me that for some reason it often defaults to a T class, but says its an Upper - sure enough when I checked on the fare breakdown the outbound was a T[:0]. She was able to complete my chosen dates in a G class there and then on the phone. However although I have my e ticket now, it does not come up on MMB - I have to enter the PNR separately to bring it up. No matter, I am delighted to have been able to get G's to where we wanted when we wanted.

I finally called VS to book (of course had lost original G date I was looking for in terms of departure) with very long wait due to their re-ticketing snow cancellations. The agent said no one seemed to have noted that the online G bookings were buggy, was thoughtfully grateful for my notification, and said she would pass it along.

Good thing though that I know it is 90K BOS-LHR RT UC as she was ready to debit me 100.

Don't know whether the site has been repaired yet. It was taking info as UC, returning PE dates and citing wildly inaccurate tax and surcharge fees.

cheers,
RR

sorry for replying to my own post--but I too am having to plug in my pnr to get my flight. Anyone know why VS have not sorted this?

Simply because your booking does not have your FC # against it as a reference. This has become another sort of 'bug' with miles bookings, in that you cannot enter it yourself and you need to phone FC to do so.

The main bug when searching for miles fares is still there on the Web site, I see it defaulting to T when searching for Gs all the time.

Someone else correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure that whenever you book a miles upgrade, whether to PE or UC, it will not show by default on MMB, ie. you need to enter your PNR.

I have a G fare booked and I'm the same.

Don't think that is correct James. I am booked on a L upgraded to a G for our trip to the West Coast in May and my booking is linked in to my FC account and I can see it when I log in without the need for my booking ref.

I need to enter the 6 letter booking ref and my full first name for it to appear as my FC account is in my shortened normal name.

Thanks for the correction Neil. It is strange though, myself and Steve are on two separate bookings and his flight shows via MMB but mine doesn't. The even stranger thing is that when I access each booking (his via MMB and mine manually using name/PNR) both of them have the 'Frequent Flyer' field blank. So why is his automatically retrievable via FC number and not mine?

Naturally I want to add in FF details on both bookings but how do you do this? On the main screen on 'My Booking' it lists the things you can do - eg, Meal Request, View Or Change Seats & Update Frequent Flyer - but can't seen any means of adding this in? There are 'edit' buttons to update phone numbers but not alongside Frequent Flyer?

The reason you can't amend your FF number details, is as you think, because it is a miles booking. It doesn't matter if it is a full miles redemption, an upgrade from L/S to a G with miles, or even if only 1 leg of the booking is miles, the system doesn't get it.

This is part of the reason why you have to call VS to get any original miles (for your L) posted to your FC account and it doesn't update automatically.

Even when you get your boarding pass it won't show your FC number on it, it shows something like a 005 number, which means it is a miles booking.

OK many thanks Neil. The quirks of the VS system I guess. I'll call FC to ensure my FC number is in the system. Just odd though that Steve can access his booking automatically and I can't given that we booked our flights at the same time & both used miles.

Does that mean we are last in line to get our meal choice? [:?]
