About time some news like this was announced! No idea on timeline though... will it simply be an aesthetic upgrade, or entertainment systems as well? I'm hoping for a nice bit of V:Port or something new...

So I'm guessing that confirms the A330's on order will not be going to Gatwick, maybe they will seperate the LGW / MAN fleet in to LGW with the 744's and MAN with the 330's?

Or send the 330's elsewhere for expansion!

It has now been announced on the VS Facebook page, so maybe the thread can be moved to the main forum now.

I'd put my money on the B744's getting the same system as the new A330's, i suspect Panasonic EX2 (also fitted to V Australia B777's).

Hi this was annonced to staff about a week ago new seats and new IFE (not vport)... it will be the one to avoid in the future! Will be compleated by 2012 so prob another year before refits begin. The 744s are staying for quite some time now!

What makes you say that?

I read this as 'people will moan if they get V:Port'

Perhaps V-Port will be replaced on the HLR fleet too. Having just one system to maintain has to be cheaper than the 3/4 they have now..

Can live in hope.

Can't see that in the near future, nothing wrong with v-port (Panasonic 3000) system.
