New Gold Card arrived - yuk!

I know its been discussed before but just got mine and it really is horrible!

Tell me about it! I got a red one and a silver one in the same mail (no idea why), both horrible, looks really tacky. And as for the red shoe lace they give you to tie it to your bag.. stupid.

Virgin - Your target market is not under 14 year old girls. Give us grown up, silver and gold cards.

When I showed my AU card at the Pacific Blue check in a couple of days, the agent screwed her nose up and said what an awful design it was. [B)]

At therisk of going over old ground from the origianal debate IMHO there was nothing wrong with the old cards
I suspect that VS paid some design bod an awful lot of money for the revamp. Money that could have been spent a LOT better elsewhere.

I just had an email from one of my hotel FF programmes offering me a 'custom' card where I could choose an image for the front from a selection they offered plus some tailoring on the back to include a logo / flag etc.

Perhaps VS could offer this sort of service? It wouldn't have to be a wide choice - maybe pics of planes, CHs or from the destinations. They could even restrict it to Silver / Gold cards if they wanted to control costs.

I have replaced mine with a leather strap [8D]

I did too couldn't really figure out the shoelace. Also left the old one on so only half of it can be seen! The other one goes in the card pocket of my check in so it can't really be seen!!

I leave the old luggage tags on my suitcases - the new card stays in the back of my travel wallet in case I absolutely have to give it out. The whole look is a stinker.

I really hope someone in VS towers has a breath of the salts and realises how naff this design and wording is, then reverts.
