It really does vary, but there are usually about 3/4 a year.

If BA do announce a strike on Monday, not sure we'll be seeing a sale for a few months.

Would it be too much to ask if anyone has an idea when the next sale is likely to be then.

Based on 'inside' information or previous experience...

I don't think anyone has inside information on these things. The latest sale ended not to long ago, and that covered a period quite late in to the year.

The BA strike will have had a positive impact on bookings for VS, so I wouldn't expect a sale any time soon.

There no doubt will be one at some point, but predicting it, is near on impossible.

How often do the sales tend to be?

I know one has just finished but have to wait for my bonus (hopefully) before I can order the flights for our summer holiday!

You working with RBS then..[}:)][:p]

No inside information here but I suspect that whatever happens with a strike at BA they will have lost business to the competition and once the threat is over they will want to try and recoup some of those losses by having another sale. On this basis I would expect one around May/June time.

The question is will VS follow their lead and if they do to what extent.

Just my opinion.

If VS have any seats left to sell!
BA forward bookings are down 30-40% - they got to be going somewhere!

Let's hope some good prices come up soon.

Contemplating using some BA miles to upgade from WT+ to CW and it was 596 + 25000 miles in the last sale. Now 996 or something like that and would rather not pay the extra 400 if possible (economy flight to NY there + 4500 miles + 4 tier points with VA at least)
VA have some availability but don't have enough miles and still a bit more than I really want to pay.

Covers West coast as well - you can only upgrade one class at a time so if you want First, you'll need to book a Club fare (though it can be a sale fare). You also need to book direct with BA if you want to upgrade with miles.

I think there'll be another sale soon for BA.

That's as maybe, I wouldn't bank on there being a VS sale for some time. Loads are improving, passengers are switching from BA, capacity is still reduced (e.g. no plans yet to resume the VS25/26, ORD full time, the second HKG or IAD flights ...) and VS wants both high loads and yields.

I'll be more than surprised if VS counter a BA sale this time, but pleased nonetheless.
