Glad you could make it!

We've been working on this new site for many months, and the team are pretty pleased with the way it turned out. But we realise that it'll be unfamiliar at first, so feel free to ask questions; poke around a bit and generally get comfortable with the new features.

There will be some snags in the transition, of course, so if you've got a problem with your account, such as not being able to access the members forums (assuming you had access before), or not something odd about your membership - let us know in this thread.

If you have a problem logging into your account, drop me an email - [email protected], and I'll look into it.

Well this is going to take a little time but it is already fabulous - puts V-Flyer leagues ahead of FT etc. Simply stunning.

Now, I'm going to get my hammers out and really bash everything about for a few hours.

I doubt Pete is going to get much sleep if everyone gets their hammers out (Slinky)

But it does look good, doesn't it? oo)

Isn't old age a terrible thing? :P

(Don't worry, DL is my sister so I can get away with things like that :D )

One note - while the domain name changes are rippling through the internet (and a bunch of people are still seeing the old site at the v-flyer.com address), members @v-flyer.com email addresses may bounce. This should sort itself out once all domain name servers have updated themselves, which can take up to 48 hours, depending on the settings of your local ISP.

OK my first question - on my first browse I had some issues with the site retaining my log-in as I moved around. Cleared all cookies, then it seemed OK. Second attempt, I enter the forum and the 'Login' button on the left says 'Login' so I try and it tells me I am 'Logged in to the private areas of the site' but then I try and post, and I am not. So I login and say 'remember me' again, since the site forget the last time, and I'm in OK.

Any tips on this - I like to come to the site and be logged in right away and for as long as I am on the site?

Thanks

PS, just did it again, went from forum to aircraft database and back to forum and I have to login again. I've asked Chrome to remember and save the password etc. ... ?|

I am also having the same problem Slinky, it affects me when I go from the forums, to the community section, and then back to the forum, it just seems to forget my log on.

Could be a cookie issue with Chrome. Would you mind firing up another browser to see if that has the same problem?

Hmmm... I may be something to do with the change over. I suspect we'll need to leave it until the site is well and truly on v-flyer.com proper, since cookies won't work across different domains - even though the site they are pointing at are the same.

It does seem to have calmed down a bit now. Although my URL shows as the webeditors one, even though I just typed V-Flyer.com in the address bar.

I've put a redirect on the old site to here - so all users will get to see this version. Once the DNS have updated, that won't be neccessary

I like the new site, although will take a bit of getting used to...

One thing I just can't find is where to go to renew my membership - in theory it expired earlier this month, so I need to sort it out, but I just can't find the correct place...
