The photo albums are part of the community section of the new site. It isn't a gallery as such anymore like on the old site, each user has their own album to upload photos in to and share with the other users.

You also can attach photos directly to posts :)
eg:

Just use the Upload Attachment option below when posting.
It appears with the full post option, after "post a reply" or reply with quote.

Would like you to know Pete that the login issues seems to be resolved for me. I land on the home page, am immediately logged in and that now carries itself into the forum.

Thanks

I'm getting a strange problem that the right hand side of the page dissapears into white edging.
Using IE8 version 8.0.7600.16385.
For example, the Post icons whilst writing this message dissapear just after the Easyjet one

There's a quick link to photos in the bottom toolbar too - next to the search icon. It'll say 'Photo Galleries' when you hover over it.

In addition to Neil's point that an album has been created for any images you had on the old site, you can create as many albums as you like and organise them as you see fit.

Photos now also come with proper commenting features, and the ability to tag pictures of your friends, much like the way Facebook lets you do it.

I don't know if is is just me, but the quick link icons in the bottom left of the screen seem a bit hit and miss.

I currently have 7 icons there, but earlier this morning there were only 3 - I was logged into the site, but couldn't access PMs- I can't remember what others were missing, but if it happens again I will make a more careful note.

If you're only seeing three icons, but are logged into the forum, that's one of those occasions that you're logged into the forum but not into the site. Going to the homepage normally refreshes your login and gets the buttons back. This can happen if your entry to the site is direct to the forum, and not via the homepage.

Is there anyway to change this ? I am probably in the majority where I have the forum bookmarked rather than the homepage.

Also, the preview and submit buttons are round the wrong way IMHO :D

No way to change it, unfortunately. If you remember, the forum and rest of site are bridged, but if you hit the forum first, the other side doesn't know you've logged in yet.

Not a big problem, since as soon as you then hit a page 'on the other side', it starts a login session for you, and the toolbar can pick up on your login details.

Hi Pete

Just FYI I'm experiencing the same kind of login issues as Slinky reported, i.e. login to site homepage successful and then asked to login again to the forum. I have tried exiting my session with the "remember me" option both off and the symptoms are the same; the only difference if that I use the latter (and hence am auto logged into the homepage) when I arrive at the forum it registers the fact I am a registered user browsing the forum.

Another symptom is that when I first enter the Forum the fourth entry in the "User Menu" is "Login"; if I try to do so, I am told that I am already logged in to the "private area". Once I have attempted a post - and been given the login screen - that option changes to "Logout [pjh]"

I can workaround so it's not a biggie. And thanks for Neil for helping me get this far this morning.

Paul

Pete wrote:Hi Alan,

Can you do a screen grab of that area and post it as an attachment?

Solved it.
Its because I have the Favourites view tab open on the left hand side, the page does not resize to fit what's left of the screen. if I close the favourites column, the page shows in entirety

After a couple of times reverting to the webeditor domain, I now seem to be fairly routed in the V-Flyer domain. However it does not remember me whenever I leave the forum or quit V-Flyer and I have to log on each time. How quickly I am being forgotten! I feel distinctly unloved

I have to admit I HATE change but this is good. Its taking some time to find my way around and I keep having to go to the main menu and board index to find what I want, but by the time Pete updates this site, I will have learnt my way around! One strange thing, when I log in using Firefox, I also like AlanA lose the right hand side of the site and I dont have my favorites open so right now I'm using Chrome and it is all fine. Thanks to Pete and the others for all their hard work and also a big thank you to other members for asking all the questions I had but after reading this thread most of them are answered. Thanks again everyone ^)
