Added a new tool to the toolbox today - All Flights, which will show you the position and flight route of all Virgin Atlantic aircraft currently airborne.

Just because you can, and it's rather fascinating info really ;-)

Now that looks like a 'just because I can thing' but it makes it no less fabulous. Love it.

Now, the page needs a bigger world map view???

I'll add that feature, along with the ability to turn on and off labels like flight number, route path, etc, after drinkies in London today... ;-)

The more I look at the All Flights tool, it makes me see a big gap in South America, bring on Rio and Buenos Aires!!!

How about animating this? - play back the previous day or week and see them all fly outward and inward ..... :w

That's a really good idea. Or how about selecting one aircraft then animating where it's been over the last X period?

Not sure how many frames you can link into an animated gif.
There may be a limitation that would make it too jerky for a long sequence.
A video would be possible but may be difficult to auto. generate.

Pete is going to love this.
He just finishes a load of work and we are already trying to load him up with more.. ):

Some enhancements to the All Flights tool today. You can now turn on-and-off some of the display info, like rout paths, aircraft reg, take off time etc; and if you've got a mouse wheel you can use that to zoom into the image and then pan around.

Thanks Pete. Still love the view. I wonder if VS have something similar, I can see the despatch senior managers looking at this and taking a big sigh, relaxing, knowing all their aircraft are up and away to the destinations - now waiting for tomorrow's rush!
