Some advice please..... I have 5 UCS return tickets for VS5 for next weekend. They are no flexibl;e seats. However, it looks (due to an almost certain bereavement in the close family) that I will not be able to go. Am I screwed or is there another option other me losing all my money? Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated.

Firstly, I would suggest you call VS, and explain the situation to them. They may, under the circumstance be willing to allow you to change your dates until later in the year if that suits you. At worst with VS you will be able to claim back all the taxes, just not the fare element.

The other option is of course, your travel insurance, which should cover you for this type of thing.

Hope everything works itself out for you.

Normal fare rules are:
CANCELLATIONS:
AT ANY TIME
TICKET IS NON-REFUNDABLE.
WAIVED FOR ILLNESS OR DEATH OF PASSENGER OR FAMILY MEMBER.

Will need documentation for this though.

Sorry to hear about your loss but airlines do understand that these things happen.
