Many thanks Pete, definitely easier to use.
Is active topics also changed?

Hi All !!.....also been a 'lurker'for some years.....but the new site is brill and the 'workers'....are to be congratulated!!!......all the best for the future.

Used to be a real fan of BA and they were great 4 - 5 years ago but having flown Virgin longhaul for the last year or so they are now my first choice.....just a shame they don't fly to Adelaide!

Flying VA to GND in early May and really looking forward to it!

regards

Jamie, the itinerary calendar is still on the site, it is in The Toolbox section of this site.

Welcome Club Class and all new members, hope you find the site useful and please contribute and post as much as you would like to.

Have you made sure summer time isn't ticked in your User Control Panel?

One of the benefits of this new board is the 'god power' I can wield to update a user's preferences - and yes, tonty, you had daylight savings in effect - so turned those off for you. ;-)

So, is there now no way of seeing new itinerary posts without going in to the specific itinerary forum?

Tricky to have it both ways, Neil ;-)

But yes, you can see the latest itinerary posts by going to the itinerary forum. The activity stream still also includes links to new itinerary posts, and, of course, there is the itinerary calendar if you want to see who is flying on the same day as you (which is probably the most useful view of that type of data).

Because itinerary posts are frequent, but not always the spark of a threaded topic, I agree with the general consensus that they were clogging up the new posts / active topics, etc.

The advanced search seems to require a key word - it will not even allow frequent "words" such as VS
Would it not be possible to allow blanks/common words but select the Itinerary sub forum and provide all posts within the selected time period? Is this not the equivalent of "latest posts" but allowing selection with other criteria such as (sub)forum(s)?

It's a "feature" of phpBB to put that block on common words - and that's even after upping the threshold from 5% to 20% appearance.

The alternative is to use the search box from the homepage, which still searches the forum, but using a different method that doesn't impose the restrictions.

Tut ii) :P

I totally agree that the itinerary posts were complicating the new/active posts. I was just thinking that they used to show in the active topics on the old site without seeming to get in the way, but I guess they were more out of the way at the bottom on there.

Probably. Although we are on a UK server, so it might not be necessary. We'll just have to wait and see...

well I wont worry until it happens !

Maybe something else to add to yourt list but any chance of being able to choose a pic from your gallery to be your profile pic rather than having to upload the same one again?
