I am UK based and switched my LHR-HKG business from CX to VS last April and have been delighted with the service. I have 70 Tier Points so far and I wonder if there is any real advantage in getting more. You only need 30 to be Gold.

My UK-USA travel is always with UA where I am Global services so is there any advantage in giving VS some of my USA business ?

thanks

There is an unpublished tier above Gold which you're probably about 30 tier points away from 'getting a call', although because it's unpublished, the criteria for being invited are subject to change. It used to be the top 50 flyers in each operating region, then changed a few years back to those who hit 100 TPs in a year; but it quite possibly may have changed again. There are a few members of this select group on V-Flyer, although the details don't tend to get discussed in public.

You don't get much in the way of extra benefits as I understand it though; a named contact, I believe, who can move mountains to make your travel plans as smooth as possible within VS, but your card will be the same as all other Golds.

There are also a handful of codings that VS can attached to your travel profile, which I won't be so indiscreet as to reveal ;-), but basically if you're a celeb or a important passenger to VS's business, they can flag this on your booking to make sure you're handled correctly.
