I am trying to change my LAS - LGW on on Apr 3rd to anything west coast on March 30th Upper Class. I need a reward seat though, however there is no availability showing on any west cost route.

When I called Virgin the agent told me that there are 30 seats unsold on the SFO route and was surprised why they hadn't come up for reward.

Anyone know somebody in Revenue to get some seats released.

Thanks

Things could change in the next week or so, so keep checking, although with the BA strike VS do seem to have reduced the amount of reward seats.

The VS20 on 30 Mar is indeed light. It's a 747 and very empty up front. Since 30 Mar is the last day of the BA strike, I'm not surprised VS is holding back inventory. Your best hope is to keep checking but normal rules aren't applying at the moment.

It's also the day before the children break up from school for the Easter holidays in the Berkshire area, and it's not unknown for parents to take their children out of school early to get a flight.

So I am not surprised the rewards are not coming up. You might be able to get one nearer the time.

I used to watch the reward ticket availability to work out if I could upgrade a PE ticket, and often it was only within 48 hours before a flight, and sometimes only 24 hours before when I was able to get a confirmation.

Thanks for heads up on the BA strike I hadn't put the two together. I spoke with Revenue Management and they confirmed that they wont release reward seats until the strike has been cancelled, so much for being AU!!
