T3 to T1 - Flight Connections Centre or Landside - Faster?

I guess this might formerly have been an Ask The Guru type question and I am sure there are differing opinions.

Arriving VS2 around 9 to 9-30am and I need to connect to Terminal 1 for domestic transfer at 11. Will be first off the plane and I am IRIS registered. I will have boarding Aztec on my Iphone and/or printed out. Hand luggage only BTW.

Which way to go - Landside or Airside?
Are there presently showers in BD domestic lounge?

I don't know how fast or slow the flight connection center is but if you go via the landside route T3 to T1 gates takes about 45 mins (including security etc.)

There are no showers (or anything much else!!) in the bmi domestic lounge, which I believe is also ungoing refurbishment too at the moment. Appartently only the upstairs bit (what used to be the AU only section) of the lounge is operating during the refit.

I guess if I have time I could pop into Revivals for a shower - sausage sandwich - cup of coffee - watch TV for a bit
Might just change to a later flight home
