Here's a question - if someone has an itinerary and their flight has departed, could the little picture show them en route?

Just put my Oban - Glasgow flight in and it works fine in the itineraties forum but on my little plane icon I think it's sending me to Canada. Please don't make me go there!

For Virgin flights that's a possibility... Hmmm...

Oh Canada is lovely and you'll have a fab time

Rather reminds me of the couple who ended up in Sydney,Nova Scotia instead of the Oz one

Though according to this is happens every now and then

Looks like I don't have OBN in the database, so it's just being a bit random. I'll need to get that airport added with its longitude & latitude.

Yay, Thank you for fixing that Pete, I will try and arrange more random flights to test your database.
Best made from Uni hockey club moving to Canada in 2 weeks so will be there soon I hope. Having lunch with him tomorrow to try and pin him down on a date.

Yes you can EGG, use your signature in your User Control Panel.

Egg - I'll put this into a sticky, but just so you know, the countdown timers have been replaced by the 'event' BBcode, which you can add to your signature in the user control panel (or indeed, anywhere in your post):

Assume that the curly brackets in the following examples are square when you use them;

so {event=2010/05/16}Bay To Breakers in San Francisco{/event}

will produce

Events in the past are now handled better than just 'Outta Here', so;

{event=2010/03/12}New Site Launch{/event}

gives:

Is the total number of miles and text saying how many future flights I have new or did I blindspot it before?

Think I noticed the number of flights but not the total miles. Must look closer next time.

I'm afraid I keep discovering things I can add... and I just won't leave it alone!

Welcome to the site.

To populate the plane symbol - post an itinerary - to do this, go to the Itineraries forum:
forum/index.php?f=12&rb_v=viewforum

Can you be a bit more specific about what else you need help with?

A good place to start is the FAQ, which you can find under the User menu on the left side of the screen.

thanks

Hi and welcome to V-Flyer.

To get the plane icon to show your flights, you just need to add any flights you currently have planned in to the itinerary forum. If you go in there and create a flight it will then automatically appear in the little plane icon.

As for general navigation, we have the main forums for posts and then the community section which is all about the social side of the site, where you have your own profile, photo albums etc and then there is the toolbox which is full of great tools and information.

The best thing to do is to just have a play around and get involved, if you have any more specific questions just ask away.

We do our best ;-)

Welcome to the site, BTW - and feel free to have a good look around the forums and community section to get a better understanding of what's available. And don't hesitate to ask any questions should something not be immediately apparent.

As for gatherings - yes, sure do. Most of the discussion of those takes place in the members forum called "The Pub", which you should have access to. For confirmed social events, those then get discussed in the public areas of the site, such as the planned group-participation in Bay To Breakers next month in San Francisco. There will also - no doubt - be other events closer to home over the year, as gatherings tend to spring up at the drop of a hat. Which reminds me - are we all doing Farnborough this year?
