This did the rounds about a year ago. The consensus was that it was more a lack of cultural awareness than a bad meal.

I can't find the article saying it was a stunt now, it was over a year ago, but i have found this article on the Telegraph from Jan 2009.
I did read it afterwards that it was a stunt, but unfortunately you have pulled me up on it and i can't give proof

I am not doubting your word for one second. I used to be a massive fan of the Virgin / Branson spin machine, but they no longer seem to have the flair of old
