Don't forget, it's a flat earth representation, so anything north or south of the equator will be barrelling along ... especially north of Alaska.

If it is the one I think you are talking about, it looks like a Norway -> Alaska flight over the top of the world.

The fact it travels _very_ fast on the map is all because of the projection of the map (looks like a standard equirectangular projection), as you get further to the top or bottom of the map (especially at the extremities) things will move much faster just because the earth is stretched in the map.
