Help me find a nice hotel/spa in the Greater MIDLANDS area

Hi All,
I am hoping that someone might be able to suggest a nice character hotel (not your hilton et al) preferably somewhere in a rural (ish) location with SPA facilities.

Needs to be an hour of so travel time from M6/M40/M42 corridor.

The SPA facilities I am looking for is somewhere that does some treatments, maybe something like back and neck massage, hot stone etc etc.

Any ideas?

Isn't there are lovely Marriott Spa Resort in the Manchester area, somewhere in Cheshire....I saw an advert for it the other day and it has a rather famous golf course also...name escapes me now.

Have heard good reports of this hotel and is approx 20 minutes J15 M40 30-40 minutes J3 M42
