I can't see where anyone was arguing that the VS product is better than the BA product or the T5 is worse than the LGW South Terminal.

The fact you generalised the whole passenger base out of LGW with the phrase 'chavpit', was unnecessary.

The South terminal is a dump. Fact. and since this a public forum, I'll say what I like thank you very much.the fact that you've just had a pop at me for expressing an opinion is unecessary.
Sadly, I knew that assoon I said that BA's product was better than VS I'd be jumped on. Thanks for proving me correct.
And for the record, I think that VS have an excellent product out of LHR...but you would not get me to fly on them out of LGW if you paid me to.

And whilst you're doing that try convincing me that the IFE on the LGW 744s is superior to that on the BA 777s that they use on the LAS route. Because you won't be able to. The simple fact is that the LGW product is now worse than many charter flights. Deal with it and stop making excuses.

Errr....I wasn't taking issue with your comments or judgement about T5, IFE, 777s or VS service. I was, however, taking issue with your characterisation of the people using the VS flights in particular and LGW in general.

I don't think I 'jumped' on you at all. Again, there wasn't a discussion or comment about the different between VS and BA or T5 and the south terminal, so I'm not sure what you are talking about.

If you read many of the threads on here, we all comment on how VS need to improve the LGW fleet (which they are doing) and how there are problems at times with the levels of service that are being offered by them. It certainly isn't a VS love fest on here.

The thing I took offence to, was your generalisation of pax using LGW south terminal with the phrase 'chavpit' which, to many people is offensive.

You are making a common mistake that just because you are free to register and take part in a forum, that you have a right to say what you like. ("Free speech"). That is not the case. Free speech gives you the right to start your own website, newspaper, TV channel and say what you like, you do not have the automatic right to have your comments published in any of those media outlets which are owned by others.

So, getting back to the point, V-Flyer has very simple rules regarding what is considered acceptable language, and the use of ad hominems or insulting language directed at others is not allowed. Personally I agree that BA has a better (newer) terminal, a better IFE and the aircraft are probably more pleasant, since the ex-LGW 747s a desperately in need of the refurb they are touted to get in the next year or so. But there's no need to use language like 'chavpit'.

we use LGW Sarf terminal regularly a) because its local and b) because we fly to MCO as its a shorter drive to our home inn Fla.

i resent being called a chav and if you would like to come see me i will discuss it over a large lager. i will be wearing burberry, primark and some nice lacoste just to identify myself...chav indeed

I do not post often but felt obliged to re. Gatwick.

It's quite amusing how people assume a certain type of person uses Gatwick, as a young (ish) lady who funds her own UC travel (i.e. not paid for by her employer), my preference is always Gatwick, it's only a 40 minute pleasant drive from Surrey across country for me and I detest the journey to Heathrow. I'm definitely not a chav or designer wanabee, or even someone who is pretending to be something they are not, but I do prefer Gatwick, irrespective of others opinions or categorisations. I also love the small more personalised cabin on the LGW fleet - how --more 'exclusive' can you get than just 14 suites.

Even the most pompous individual can become a chav under the influence of alcohol.

Sazzy,

Regardless of my opinion, I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully the wind will change on Monday (Gatwick forecast looks like it might swing onto easterlies) so you should be ok hopefully.

Good luck and enjoy Vegas when you get there y)
