Hi All...I am a newbie but I have flown several times with Virgin to MCO. This time is the first time I am upgrading to Premium economy but I keep getting varying reports on baggage allowances. It says one thing on the site and another in the booklet that came with my e ticket.
My boyfriend is flying in later in economy....is he still allowed 2 cases at 23kgs or has it been cut to one case?
Am I allowed 2 cases at 32 kgs or only one?
I would appreciate any help on clarifying this! x

Hi,

It all depends on when you booked your flight.

If you booked your flight *before*the 25th November 2009 then this page details your baggage allowance. For PE it is 2x32kg and for Y it is 2x23

If you booked your flight *after* the 25th November, then this page details your baggage allowance. For PE it is 2x23kg and for Y it is 1x23.

Thanks,
Neil

Ok thanks...I booked in Feb 09 so it should be the first one but what confused me was that on the e ticket under baggage allowance it just says 32...not 2 x 32. I love being able to take tons!

If you booked in Feb 09 was that through Virgin Holidays because if you did then you may have booked but not ticketed (there is a difference!).

To get your accurate entitlement you need to check in 'manage your booking' on the VS site - there is a tab under your flight details but I think your BF will get 1 * 23 in econ and you will get 2 * 23 (NOT 32)

Don't forget you can also pay for extra bags - do it on line and its cheaper than at the airport

VS is still quite befuddled on this. When I print off my eticket from the site, it tells me in UC I can still take 32kg suitcases, and the trip was booked after the change. I plan on taking this to check in and arguing with them if they want to!

The new allowances got changed and UC kept it's 3x32kg allowance, so you shouldn't have any problem. What has confused everyone is the amount of times VS changed it in such a short space of time.
