This TR is for the Hong Kong to Heathrow leg of the trip.

Upon landing in Hong Kong we were surprised to see our names appearing on a board just after disembarking from the plane. We made ourselves known and were told "follow me". Hmmm, an escort, now that is service :)

We were quickly ushered through security and escorted all the way to the Clubhouse where this time we chose to sit out on the balcony. I had the lemon chicken as I wanted to try and sleep for the final leg into London.

The loungers they have are perfect for relieving some of the ankle swelling that happens when travelling down the back of the plane so I spent most of my time there.

Yet again, our time there came to an end all too soon and we were back through the priority boarding and into our seats in row 56. No luck this time with seat movements because the plane was packed so I considered myself lucky to have had 3 sectors in comfort and that it was only 12 or so hours before we'd be on the ground in London.

I managed a few hours sleep on the plane before my bodyclock forced me into consciousness. The final hours were spent on the IFE watching a couple of movies and episodes of Family Guy.

I won't fib, I was glad when we landed because my shins and ankles were starting to complain about the contortions they were being forced to perform, maybe a 12 hours stint on its own is okay, but as part of a 24 hour journey it is a bit much.

So all told, I have to say I was very, very impressed with the service I got from Virgin with access to the Clubhouses and effective seat upgrades on 3 of the 4 legs. It certainly made the trip of a lifetime that bit better. Thanks Virgin :)
